Quick Snippets

Tuesday September 20th, 2011

Hey all, been working at it hard and finally getting somewhere. Had a session yesterday with the homie The Empty Cup and I’m finally getting somewhere with the EP. Cut it down to 8 tracks and I just have a bit more mixing to do and then the master and release.

Been working on the live show with a band as well as towards doing some sets with a DJ and singer.

Also got some vocals coming out on The Empty Cup’s mixtape in December.

That’s all for now.

Upcoming Collaborations!

Thursday October 21st, 2010

Since I’ve been back in Perth after my extensive sabatacle I’ve been in the studio producing and writing raps just about everyday. This burst of energy has allowed me to tee up some nice things with some of my favourite Perth peeps including Mathas, Able, Arms In Motion, The Empty Cup, Marksman, Wisdom 2th, Dazastah, Selekt Few, Delirious and Natalie Alley (of the Typhoons).

I’ve also teed up some remixes from cats like Diger Rokwell and Ta-Ku as well as many others. AIM and Maxy Bills have mentioned they’ll do some too and you can probably expect one from most of my Community buddies.

While some of these tracks will be for other releases including Arms In Motion’s upcoming album, a joint release from Marksman and Wisdom 2th and an EP from Dazastah, most of them are going towards the series of three EPs I’m working on right now which will be released free online at www.thecommunity.com.au and from my own website coming soon.

The remixes will be released together as part of an ongoing secret project for world domination but if you want to stay in the loop check back here and on my soundcloud at www.soundcloud.com/lewis-galaga which I update regularly with beats, snippets from collabs and finished tracks.

peas!

I’ll be meeting up this weekend with another Perth emcee Marksman (of Dome Sunset) who’s been traveling around the US battling anyone he can find and we’re hitting Rock The Bells for some Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest and Snoop Dogg.

Debut EP On The Way

Tuesday June 22nd, 2010

Finished writing the tracks for my debut solo EP recently. In my soundcloud player, you’ll find the most recent versions of the four tracks that have been mixed as of today with the help of grand pubah Keiran Kenderessy at Loop Studios.

Here are some photos of the awesome gear that we’re using for any studio heads out there. Neve, Chandler, STA, Purple Audio, Focusrite, 1176, RETRO shite.

I’ll be finishing the other three mixes when I get back from vacation in September and hopefully releasing it over summer. It’ll feature a guest spot from Mathas, some violin wizardry from The Empty Cup, and vocal and horn stylings from Natalie Alley and Dylan Hooper of The Typhoons. (Some of which can be heard in my soundcloud player)

Did I mention the soundcloud player?

Stay Tuned!
