BASEketball tournament: 16 team (3 players per team) elimination series. Same rules as the movie. With the William Street Festival being family friendly, we will leave the ‘psych-outs’ to a minimum. $5 per player. The winning team will get to keep the portable basketball system (valued at $200) that will be purchased specifically for the event.

Rules: Round of 16 and QF 3 innings, SF and GF 5 innings.

THE COMMUNITY BEAT CANTEEN

A series of lunchtime performances during WAMI Week 23-27rd of May from 12.00-1.30pm featuring tasty tuck hop talents.

Monday May 23 features the future beat frankfreakers of Boost Hero Man with the hip hop hambangers of DJ Silence.

Tuesday May 24 serves up the delicious dubstep and trip hop treats of YLEM with the psych hop salad of Diger Rokwell.

Wednesday May 25 lays out a lushious lyrical luncheon with Marksman, Wisdom Tooth and the delectable delivery of Delirious.

Thursday May 26 churns out metaphorical meat chunks of meaning with Mathas and the emphatic crooner of crockery The Empty Cup.

Friday May 27 wipes up the week with the sweet potato swoon and sway of Rae and the dubstep and future beat of chef Sibalance.

The Community Canteen will be situated in The Northbridge Piazza.

with new material from his electrifying fourth album, Li(f)e.

Sage Francis has never been afraid to provoke. As a result he is a sometimes polarising, increasingly important figure in modern music. Adored by many, reviled by a few but never ignored and always essential, he has developed into a fearless social critic. Sage’s fan base continues to grow outside of the hip hop community with the assistance of his influential supporters, most recently in the form of BBC1 announcer Zane Lowe. Zane has been championing ‘Best Of Times’, the lead single from Li(f)e, leading to two sold out London shows with tickets exhausted two months in advance of Sage’s arrival.
